Suzuki Katana 2019 is the legend that is reborn. With the trend of nostalgic motorbike prevailing, Suzuki has decided to revive the Katana which was too well known almost 40 years ago.

At the Intermot Motorcycle Show 2018 held in Germany, Suzuki brought the Katana model with a unique design: nostalgia harmonizes with the future. With the 2019 Katana, Suzuki aims to improve its market share in the 1,000 cc crossover segment, which faces the three rivals in Japan.

In 1981, in Cologne (now Intermot), Suzuki surprised the world by exhibiting the GSX-1100S Katana with a unique design at that time. The GSX-1100S Katana has a sophisticated design with a futuristic angular outline. After nearly 40 years, the GSX-1100S Katana is still considered the symbol of the 1980s.

Similar to the Suzuki Katana from 1981, Suzuki Katana 2019 was also born in Europe by designer Rodolfo Frascoli. After succeeding with many famous brands such as Moto Guzzi or Triumph, Frascoli reinvented the legendary GSX-1100S Katana on the new model.

At the top of this bike, Suzuki Katana 2019 features a square headlamp, combined with a contoured windshield inspired by the old model. All Suzuli Katana 2019 lighting and signaling systems are powered by LED technology.

The tank has deep cuts and a large Suzuki logo on each side is copied from the GSX-1100S Katana. To achieve this design, the Suzuki Katana 2019 gas tank contains only 12 liters - a modest figure for 1000cc motorbikes. Katana 2019 is equipped with KYB shock absorbers with a cylinder diameter of 43 mm that can adjust the load. The rear shock absorbers can also adjust the weight. The front disc brakes use the four-piston Brembo monobloc brake pads on the GSX-R1000 but equipped with ABS technology.

The clock with the monochromatic LCD screen comes from the super bike GSX-R1000 but with its own interface for Suzuki Katana 2019. Like other Suzuki models, Suzuki Katana 2019 is also equipped with the system Easy Start - Technology.

Suzuki Katana 2019 is powered by a 999cc DOHC 4-cylinder engine that is copied from the 2005-2008 GSX-R1000. However, this engine has been completely improved to produce better torque and to operate smoothly. Thus, Suzuki Katana 2019 has a capacity of 148 horsepower and 108 Nm of torque.

Customers can upgrade Suzuki Katana 2019 with various options such as Brembo brake pads painted in red color, carbon fiber pads, a dark windshield, a Katana logo seat with red indicator, a heated steering wheel, a protection of the fuel tank. Suzuki Katana 2019 will be sold next year at an unpublished price.
